Located in Freeport, Florida, the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center is an environmental education center dedicated to teaching students about the natural world. On average, 100 fourth and seventh-grade students visit daily, participating in two or four-day programs filled with over twenty environmental science lessons—all at no cost. Founded by Walton County conservationist M.C. Davis in 2009, the center sits on a 55,000-acre nature preserve and embodies the meaning of "biophilia," or the love of all living things.
While the center is closed to the public during the school year, it opens in June and July on Thursdays and Fridays from 9 AM to 2 PM. Special events for Biophilia members are hosted throughout the year.
